I always get a little sentimental this time of year, because 13 years ago, we were packing up our lifelong home and leaving everything behind to move across the country to Franklin, Tennessee. Honestly, we knew NOTHING! Knowing nothing, doesn't make moving easy. Plus, it's not like we were in our twenties and big adventurers. In hindsight, it was not an easy move for so many different reasons.
We started doing Franklin Flannels a year after we moved here and when I tell you we knew nothing again; I'm not kidding. A wholesale, vintage flannel shirt company? What? But honestly, I believe that our path was being directed by a greater purpose and we decided to follow the lead.
From traveling all over the state looking for vintage flannel shirts - to ordering thousands of shirts at a time, we have come full circle. We've been featured on television (Tennessee Crossroads), been interviewed on podcasts, and we've had articles written about us. We participated in Made South Holiday Market, Pilgrimage Music Festival and multiple pop up shows. We've been rained out and we've sweated our behinds off. Celebrities like Garth Brooks wear our shirts and it's been an amazing adventure.
We've shipped shirts to Australia, Norway, Sweden and we even had a wholesale account in Tel Aviv!
We give back and I'm so happy when I write that check. We've supported Veterans Organizations and Animal Rescues.
We've met wonderful people and our customers are simply the best. I get a little teary-eyed thinking about all that's transpired. And we're still going. Maybe a little smaller. Maybe more exclusive, but we're still going in spite of all the flannel shirt companies mimicking Dominic's artistic work. We're okay with all of it, because we think that once you've worn a Franklin Flannels' shirt, you can tell the difference. We're just so thankful for you and for making our little business a big success.
